In addition to the Sefer Torah being dedicated today, we will be selling a Sefer in David’s memory as well. The Sefer is a compilation of Divrei Torah written by David’s friends, family, and many of his Rabbeim. At the moment the Sefer will be sold at the Hachnassa taking place this morning, and later today I will put up a link making the Sefer available to be purchased online.

Hachnassat Sefer Torah

April 11th, 2010

Dear Friends,

Sadly, the time has come and its been a year since we lost our dear friend David a”h. The project we started one year ago has come to an end, and we are ready to celebrate David’s life in the most appropriate way possible, by dedicating a Sefer Torah in his memory. For all who would like to join, the Hachnassa will take place at the Young Israel of Hillcrest at 11 am today. If you can not make it we will post pictures, and hopefully a video of the beautiful event. I would like to publicly thank all the amazing people who helped with the project and donated their time and money to it.

Dear Friends

September 16th, 2009

Dear Friends,

As many of you know, we have been collecting money for a Sefer Torah to be presented to the Rottenstreich family. The purpose of this Torah, is to be an eternal memory of our dear friend Dovid Chaim ben Tzvi Akiva a”h. While the Jewish community at large has already opened up their pockets during this financially troubling times, we are still accepting donations to reach our goal. We are hoping to be able to not only present the family with a beautiful Sefer Torah, but also have money to purchase  silver adornments for the Torah.

Those who have not already contributed are encouraged to do so, whenever is convenient for them, either by mailing a check to the Young Israel of Hillcrest, or by visiting our new website,www.dovidchaim.org and paying online. Also, for those who are wondering, ma’aser money is allowed to be given to this meaningful cause.

We would like to wish everyone a Shana Tova, and may we be zoceh to a year of only happy occasions.

Thank You
